La rémunération au titre du service notarial est strictement réglementée et fait l’objet d’un tarif. Certains actes sont soumis au tarif unique des notaires fixé par l'Etat, d'autre actes font l'objet d'un honoraire qui donne lieu à une convention signée entre le notaire et son client.
